First Christian Church is proud to present David Conte’s The Gift of the Magi on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 7:30pm. Based on the classic O’Henry short story of the same name, The Gift of the Magi is a chamber opera by San Francisco-based composer David Conte. The Gift focuses on a young couple, Jim and Della and their individual and mutual discoveries of the truly perfect Christmas gift. Laura Anderson directs and Jim Barnett conducts this production. Admission is free, but there will be a freewill offering to benefit Feed My Starving Children, a Twin Cities-based orgainiztion devoted to fighting global hunger.
