First Christian Church in Minneapolis chose April 26 to remember and honor the handiwork of God. During this Earth Stewardship Sunday, we have several ways that people of faith can care for God’s world.
- Sign the Alverna Covenant. Named after a mountain in Italy that was given as a retreat to St. Francis of Assisi, this covenant was created by members of a task force on Christian Lifestyle and the environment in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and presented at the 1981 General Assembly. You can sign the Covenant online.
- Disciples Home Missions has resources available to show how a congregation can be more green.
- Global Ministries our partnership in worldwide missions with the United Church of Christ, has several resources on climate change, including Earthcare, the webpage from the United Church of Christ.
