FCC Advent Devotionals ready Nov. 29

This year our book of daily devotions for Advent has been produced in-house, with FCC members providing their own offerings, thoughts, and reflections on the Advent season.  These books will be ready to pick up on Sunday morning, November 29, the first day of Advent. The daily devotions will also be online at the church website: wwwfccminneapolis.org.

Volunteer at St. Stephen’s Shelter

Join us every third Saturday of the month as we go and serve meals at St. Stephen’s homeless shelter in Minneapolis.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Warren Westpahl or the church office at 612-870-1868, by email at office@fccminneapolis.org.

Advent Vespers

Begins Wednesday, December 2 at 7pm.  Join us for a brief (less than 30 minutes) informal gathering time or prayer, mediation and communion.

Project Homeless Connect

December 7 at the Minneapolis Convention Center from 9am-5pm. Project Homeless Connect is a one-stop shop for delivering services to people experiencing homelessness.Hennepin County and the City of Minneapolis partner with service providers, businesses, citizens, and faith communities to bring multiple resources to one location where people can come to find the services they need. Thanksgiving Service

The Interfaith Thanksgiving Service for the downtown churches takes place this Thursday, November 26 at Temple Israel, 2324 Emerson Avenue South in Minneapolis at 10am.

The Advent Conspiracy

Please join us this Advent as we try to spend time helping others.  You can take part in the following projects:

  • Buy an animal at the Heifer Project, November 22, 29 and December 6;
  • Drop off a used children’s book for homeless children on December 29;
  • Adopt a Family and bake cookies for the Aliveness Project;
  • Donate hygienic items for Community Emergency Service, November 29- December 24
  • Donate non perishable items to the Aliveness Project on Food Pantry Sunday.
