Introducing the 2009 Advent Devotional!
The season of Advent, which is the beginning of the new church year, encourages us to live in anticipation of the celebration of the Christ child on Christmas, as well as in anticipation of the end times heralded by Christ’s coming again. Advent is one of the richest seasons of the Church year, literally a “coming to” or “living into” the new kingdom of God through Christ.
The following posts are meant to be read one each day, and were all composed by members of First Christian Church, Minneapolis specially for this purpose. Because of space restrictions, we were not able to write out the Scripture verses. Please read them first, in the Bible version of your own choosing, following them with the devotional reflections and prayers. Please feel free to add your own prayers as part of this special time of walking with God.
