Pastor’s Lenten Devotional — Day 7
Once again today I was faced with the tough reality of how to decide and what to decide. Sometimes there’s so much to sort through that even figuring out what to decide and how to decide it is frustrating. Helping a people to move along in the decision process is not an easy thing (heck, getting a group of individualists to sing harmonically is not easy; that’s what makes choral music so beautiful and miraculous). Am I pushing my own agenda on a group, trying to move things faster than they’re meant to move? Or am I being sensitive to the need for a body of people to progress in the wake of all the sortings? I don’t know, but I do know that movement, change, progress, is necessary, and that the movement itself creates a circumstance where one can look at the decisions from a little different viewpoint than where one was before.
God, help us all to see what we need to see, and decide what we need to decide.
