Summer at FCC Brings New Worship Time

Beginning on Sunday, May 30 until Labor Day Weekend,  we will move to our Summer worship schedule.  This year, summer worship will start at 10AM instead of 9:30AM as it has in past years. Please make a note of this on your calendars.

There will also be several learning opportunities for children and adults over the Summer.  These include:

•  Art of the Covenant, our children’s Church School class, will continue to meet during the summer with an abbreviated class at 9:15 am.  This is a wonderful opportunity for kids to learn about God through art.

•  A new adult group begins May 30, focusing on the book “The Meaning of Jesus” by N.T. Wright and Marcus Borg.  Pastor Dennis Sanders will lead this discussion on the centuries-old question of “Who is Jesus?”  Wright takes a more traditional view, while Borg presents some tradition-breaking ideas.

The group will meet in the church library.  If you would like to purchase a book, see Pastor Dennis.

•  Vacation Bible School will be held on the weekend of June 26-27 for children ages 3-18.

“ReNew: The Green VBS” is a joint project of Plymouth Creek Christian (Plymouth), Lake Harriet Christian, and First Christian.  The curriculum brings together the Bible and environmental stewardship.

The VBS will be held at Plymouth Creek.  If your kids are interested in taking part, you can register by going to the Plymouth Creek website at http://www.plymouthcreek.org.  Volunteers are also welcome.
