Summer Evening Prayer Begins June 13
Can’t make it to Sunday worship in the summer? Looking for a reflective and spirited evening service to ground you midweek? First Christian and Salem Lutheran will host Summer Evening Prayer, a short, contemplative worship service taking place on Wednesday evenings beginning June 13 at 6:30pm in the North Sanctuary. The frame of our worship will be a liturgy called “Prayers Around the Cross.” This liturgy was created at Holden Village, a Lutheran retreat center in Washington State in 2002 and has caught on since then. As one congregation described it, Prayers Around the Cross “is a contemplative service filled with music, scripture and silence. It stems from the ancient and emerging worship movement with a Post-Modern component.”
If you’re looking for time where you can gather in silence to experience God, please come and worship with us starting Wednesday, June 13 at 6:30PM.
