First Christian has a long history of not only giving of their financial resources to aid to “least of these,” but also rolling up our sleeves and getting “dirty for Jesus.” We participate in local, regional, national and global mission projects.
Through the work of our Mission & Outreach Team, we partner with a variety of community organizations meeting basic needs in the areas of hunger, homelessnesses, refugee services, support for those dealing with HIV/AIDS, among others. Click here for information on our mission partners. If you are interested in taking part in our various mission opportunities or need more information, please contact Pastor Laurie for more information.
Mission At Our Doorstep: Each summer we have a “local” mission trip, where we work with our community partners on a variety of projects. Learn more.
National and International:
FCC – Rippling Hope Partnership: First Christian Church partners with Rippling Hope in Detroit to serve the least—the lost—the lonely. Rippling Hope is an instrument of hope for those who despair due to the circumstances of their lives–to those that are effected by injustice, poverty and disaster. Learn more
Denominational: We partner with Week of Compassion, the disaster and relief agency of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). This work is national and inter national.
International: We partner with Plaster House, a home in Arusha for children from around Tanzania to recover in after they have had corrective orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery or neurosurgery for a disability.
