Caroline Povolny (née Stuva) began her career at the age of 6 with the Young Singers of Missouri. She was a MN State Piano Champion as a youth. She was also a Dorian Festival Champion in 1999. She received her Bachelors of Music in 2004 from Boston University, her Masters of Music in 2008 from the University of Minnesota, and her Doctorate of Musical Arts in 2017 from the University of Minnesota. She dedicated much of her graduate education to opera performance, in such roles as Lucia in The Rape of Lucretia, Barena in Jenufa, and Pamina in The Magic Flute. She taught and directed a youth choir for Hopewell Music in the past. Her personal passions include crocheting, Caribou, and church music. She has sung for First Christian in various capacities since 2007, and as a weekly section leader since 2011. She loves the community she feels in this church!
