She serves as Associate Pastor at All Nations Indian Church in Minneapolis\, Visiting Assistant Professor of Religion at St. Olaf College\, and Adjunct Faculty at Augsburg University. \nAs the first Native woman to earn a Ph.D. in theology within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America\, Dr. Sherman-Conroy has spent more than two decades exploring how communities cultivate resilience\, belonging\, and hope through story\, relationship\, and faith. Her work bridges Indigenous wisdom\, Christian theology\, leadership\, and community transformation\, inviting people to consider what it means to be fully human in a world marked by both beauty and hardship. \nShe is the founder and convener of the Movement Chaplains Network\, which has trained and supported more than 900 chaplains\, faith leaders\, and community caregivers across the United States. She also serves on the National Mainline Protestant Table with Powered by Faith\, helps lead national Poll Chaplain initiatives\, and works with faith leaders across denominations on Indigenous justice efforts\, including the development of an Indigenous-led trust through the Presbyterian Church (USA). In 2026\, she received the St. Olaf College Social Justice Award in recognition of her leadership\, advocacy\, and community organizing. \nThrough storytelling\, theology\, and Indigenous ways of knowing\, Dr. Sherman-Conroy helps communities discover how resilience is nurtured not only within individuals\, but through relationships\, shared memory\, and the practices of caring for one another across generations.
