Giving a valentine to someone isn’t the only way to show your love this month. At FCC, we have at least three opportunities to join with others in showing we care.
- Mission and Outreach Diaper / Laundry Detergent Drive.
Diapers and laundry detergent are some of the more expensive items that are needed by persons with limited incomes. Our Mission and Outreach team is encouraging us to contribute diapers (especially sizes 5 and 6) and/or laundry detergent to the Diaper Depot sponsored by Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Order from a merchant website of your choice and have the goods sent directly to Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 3045 Chicago Ave. S., Minneapolis, 55407, Attn: Jim Bargmann. If you do donate items, please e-mail Deb and let her know so that we can track how the contributions went.
- Week of Compassion, February 21-28
The Week of Compassion drive is one of four Disciples of Christ giving campaigns each year.
When you give to Week of Compassion, you deploy resources to people in need all around the world. Through sustainable development projects, our partners help provide life-giving water and other critical resources that help communities reinvent and reimagine what is possible. When water comes to a village, people are safer, healthier, and more free to pursue learning and growth opportunities. Let love flow, and share more than just water.

- Minnesota Council of Churches Refugee Services
This month, MCC Refugee Services had the privilege of welcoming 5 people with refugee status from Somalia, including siblings who were finally able to reunite with their father. As we help them settle into life in Minnesota and look forward to more arrivals, we are in need of new bed pillows, large frying pans and cooking pots, and winter coats (toddler boys and girls and men’s size small).
