Book Study: The whole congregation will be reading and discussing A Handbook for Today’s Disciples by D. Duane Cummins. Thursday mornings in September with Pastor Dan: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., in Lydia meeting room.
Fellowship and Prayer Groups: Signup for prayer groups and meal fellowship groups are ongoing; signup sheets are at the back of the sanctuary. Talk to Kirsten if you have questions.
History 2 Part 2: September 8: 2201 tour, Part 2, will be at 2:00 pm. We will visit the front half of the building (Office, sanctuary, meeting space.) Preceding the tour, a presentation from Pat D and Karen K about the history of our congregation, both buildings and the people who founded us, will be held in the Gathering Space at 12:45.An additional tour is available after the 2201 tour. We will journey by church bus to Lakewood Cemetery to view the gravesites of our 5 founding families. There will also be a surprise site included! This should take about an hour or less. Please note that the ground may be uneven for walking. If you wish to ride the church bus to these events, please let the church office know. You can also drive yourself and meet at 2201 and then follow the bus to Lakewood.
FCC Day at Como Park: Saturday, September 14: Join us for a fun day at Como Park. Come in the morning to enjoy the zoo, conservatory, carousel, Como Town rides, mini golf, paddleboat or bike rentals. There is so much to do! We have a picnic shelter reserved from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m. and will be doing a cookout dinner with potluck sides and desserts beginning at 5:30. (The zoo, conservatory and picnic are free. There are additional costs for other activities.)
Guest Speaker: Sunday, September 22: Rev. Lee Hull Moses, Chief of Staff, Office of the General Minister & President will be our guest preacher for Sunday morning worship. A light lunch will follow, and after lunch Rev. Moses will lead us in conversations and activities to learn more about our denomination and our place in it.
