Rev. Dan Adolphson (he/him/his) is the Associate Pastor of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Minneapolis, MN, and the co-facilitator of Disciples Public Presence. Dan graduated in 2014 with a Master of Divinity from Philips Theological Seminary, and also holds a Mini-MBA in Non-Profit Organizations from the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business, and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Crown College. He was ordained by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 2015.
In his ministry with FCC Minneapolis, Dan is deeply involved in LGBTQ+ issues at the community and state level and serves on the Executive & Steering Committees of Align Minneapolis, an interfaith collaboration of 17 Minneapolis churches, synagogues, and mosques and people with lived experiences working together to address homelessness and poverty. Dan also serves on the board of the Minnesota School Outreach Coalition, a collection of organizations committed to the wellbeing, joy, and successes of LGBTQIA+ youth in Minnesota. In the Christian Church in the Upper Midwest, Dan serves as the leader of the Christian Church in the Upper Midwest Open & Affirming Ministries Team, and on the Ordaining Unit of the Commission on Ministry. He has also served on the Ministers Institute Planning Team, All Congregational Gathering/School for Congregational Learning planning teams, and a presenter on various topics at those events.
From 2011-2022, Dan served in several leadership & advisory positions within Disciples LGBTQ+ Alliance, including Moderator (2015-18). At the 2023 General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Dan was co-recipient of the “We Are Called/Carol Blakely Recognition” from Disciples LGBTQ+ Alliance.
Prior to his time at First Christian Minneapolis, Dan served part-time over 25 years in a variety of music ministry and community ministry settings in Minnesota and Nebraska.
Dan brings to ministry a varied background in education, tourism management, non-profit administration in the arts. Outside of ministry Dan is an active grant review panelist with the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, loves to garden, and collects way too much pottery and model buses. Dan is married to Keith Seifert.
