The Reverend Doctor Laurie Pound Feille has served as Senior Pastor at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Minneapolis, Minnesota since 2012. First Christian Church is one of the three partner congregations in a new and exciting way of doing ministry at SpringHouse Ministry Center. She has also served churches in the Dallas/Fort Worth area: First Christian, Garland as Youth Minister and then Associate Minister; Arlington Heights, Fort Worth, as Senior Minister; and Azle Christian Church, Azle as Senior Minister.
A native of Mississippi, Dr. Feille has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. She graduated with a Master of Divinity from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University, in December 1996 and was ordained by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in January 1997. Dr. Feille graduated with her Doctor of Ministry degree in Biblical Preaching from Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, in May 2018. Her thesis was “Confessional Biblical Preaching in the Face of Whiteness: Challenging the Preacher’s Understanding of White Supremacy.” Dr. Feille has served on numerous committees and boards and has been a director/counselor/ keynoter at retreats, camps and conferences as well as an adjunct teacher in Homiletics at Brite Divinity School. Dr. Feille has served on the Executive Unit of the Committee on Ministry for the Upper Midwest Region as the Chair of the Ordaining Unit and on the Camp and Conference Ad-visory Board for the Upper Midwest Region. She is also a Past Chair of the Board of Disciples Church Extension Fund. Dr. Feille also serves when needed as an adjunct Preaching Lab instructor at Luther Theological Seminary.
At present she is a member of the Lilly-funded Compelling Preaching Cohort at Luther Theological Seminary. She is a member of the Advisory Board for the Center for Indigenous Ministries (DOC), Co-Facilitator of Disciples Justice Ministries, Co-Facilitator of Disciples Public Presence and serves on the AR/PR Action Team for the Upper Midwest Region. Dr. Feille is an active member of the Downtown Minneapolis Interfaith Clergy Group. At the 2023 General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Dr. Feille was co-recipient of the “We Are Called/Carol Blakely Recognition” from Disciples LGBTQ+Alliance. In 2017, Dr. Feille created Disciples Public Presence, a Facebook group that helps to connect Disciples clergy and laity across the breadth of the church with justice issues. The group now has over 1,500 members. Dr. Feille is also one of the founders of Standing Rock Camp held on the Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota. The camp is for Disciples High School students from across the United States and Canada so that they may learn from the Elders the true story of the experiences of our Indigenous Siblings.
Dr. Feille’s spouse is the Rev. Dr. Bryan Feille, retired professor, Brite Divinity School. Their family includes adult children Scott and his spouse Kelly, and Julie. They have four wonderful grandchildren: Lark, Santiago, Townes and Jessie.
