Melissa Pohlman is a pastor at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. She knew growing up that the only way she was ever going to behave in church was if she sat up front. She grew up in Upper Michigan and Northern Wisconsin. Melissa earned a Bachelor of Arts from Augsburg College and a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul.  In her call today she facilitates the work of the Restoration Center which is a resource hub for people in Downtown Minneapolis who are struggling with housing and economic instability. The Restoration Center does that through the work of the Free Store, the Augsburg Central Health Commons, Street Voices of Change, Emergency Rental Assistance, a community meal, worship, and spiritual practices. Pastor Melissa’s values drive her to work with people experiencing homelessness to change the conditions of being homeless in Minneapolis as we all work to ensure that everyone has a home.  Pastor Melissa’s home is in North Minneapolis with her husband Larye, and two awesome kids: Myles and Lauryn.
