A brave group of Indigenous Water Protectors and allies are currently walking 256 miles from the Mississippi Headwaters all the way to the MN State Capitol.
Our state leaders have failed to uphold treaties, protect the water or the climate. But it is not too late for President Biden to do the right thing and stop this pipeline.
Will you be there? Join MNIPL’s Multifaith Delegation on 8/25 for Treaties Not Tar Sands, a huge day of ceremony, solidarity, and action to stop Line 3! Add your presence and voice at this critical push.
As people of faith and spirituality, many of us hold these truths in our very being: that water is sacred; we must protect the earth and all life from climate chaos; and it is all of our responsibility to uphold the treaties and respect Indigenous sovereignty. Join us next Wednesday in acting for these truths.
8/25 Schedule Highlights:
12:00 pm — Meet outside the Martin Luther King Rec Center between noon and 1:00 pm. Then at 1:00, the MNIPL Multifaith Delegation will join the last 1.5 miles of the Treaty People Walk for Water to the State Capitol.
2:00 pm — Join the Treaties Not Tar Sands gathering at the Minnesota State Capitol, featuring a rally with Indigenous and community leaders and elected officials. Our Multifaith Delegation will carry “All the Earth is Holy” banners and be assembled together.
