Dear members and friends of First Christian Church Minneapolis,
It has been an incredible privilege to serve as part of the Search Committee, along with KC Helmeid, Jen Krengel, Andy Rennert, and Paul Rottschaefer. We are excited to share with you the fruits of our discernment at an upcoming congregational meeting. Here is the official notice from last week’s special meeting of the Board:
The Board of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Minneapolis, calls all members to a special congregational meeting on Sunday, August 23, 2026, immediately following worship, for the purpose of hearing and acting upon the recommendation of the Search Committee to call Rev. Daniel Adolphson as Senior Minister.
We will share the Search Committee’s discernment, Pastor Dan’s vision for FCC’s next chapter, and vote on proposed terms of call. Gather in the South Sanctuary at SpringHouse Ministry Center or via Zoom (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/
According to FCC’s constitution, a minister is “elected by a majority vote of the members of the congregation” present at the meeting (VI.2) onsite or online; FCC by-laws do not allow proxy or absentee voting. The minimum number of members that must be present for a vote to take effect (i.e., quorum) is 32. Votes will be cast by paper or via an anonymized online form.
As the Search Committee prepared our congregational profile, we listened closely to what was important to all of you: what you hold dear, what you value, and what your dreams for our future hold. We saw those values and that vision for FCC reflected in Dan’s words, especially in his ideas for how we can grow as a faith community. The Holy Spirit moved through our discernment, illuminating how Dan’s gifts complement our congregation’s calling within and beyond the walls of SpringHouse Ministry Center.
At this upcoming congregational meeting, there will be time for asking questions, engaging in discussion, and moments to pause in prayer. We need 32 members for our election to meet the requirements of our constitution, and I hope to see many more faces at SpringHouse and in the Zoom meeting. I encourage you to join us as we discuss and vote on this next chapter for our community and congregation.
